Student & Parent Resources

Here you’ll find resources to support you through our final academic year. If you don’t find the information you’re seeking or you’d like to discuss a personal/specific need, please contact the Center for Student Success (CSS).

Our goal is for every current Cabrini student to find an educational home that is the best fit or to complete their degree program and graduate successfully. Our Center for Student Success held one-on-one meetings with first-year students, sophomores, juniors, and those who cannot complete their degree by May 2024. Individualized transfer plans to complete their degrees with minimal disruption in their course of study and path to graduation were developed for each student.

There are four partner institutions committed to supporting Cabrini students beginning in fall 2024:

We have also established three program partners for specific academic areas:

  • Albright College for Music Industry majors
  • Thomas Jefferson University for Graphic Design majors
  • Saint Joseph’s University for +1 Master’s for Senior Criminology majors

Being a partner school means that the school has signed an official agreement with Cabrini and has committed to the following when students who are in good academic, conduct, and financial standing transition their study in fall 2024:

  1. Matching out-of-pocket costs (matching Cabrini’s tuition and student’s financial aid);
  2. Teaching out Cabrini’s curriculum so that students remain on track for graduation; and
  3. Accepting all credits, including those earned with “D” letter grades, except where a certification/accreditation expects a higher grade.

For those interested in Villanova University, our affiliate school, there is an expedited, fee-free review process with two pathways for transfer, to enable rapid decisions around enrollment and financial aid for the 2024/25 academic year.

All the details regarding partner schools are here.

Academic Year 2023/24

No, courses at Cabrini will continue as defined in the course catalog and syllabi through the end of the academic year.

Throughout this upcoming year, the Center for Student Success will work with you directly to develop an individualized transfer plan to complete your degree with minimal disruption in your course of study and path to graduation. Your plan will target excellent local colleges and universities, including our partner schools, that are best aligned to your program of study and  offering the best opportunities for your academic, personal, and career success.

Cabrini has a robust Alumni Association with more than 18,000 undergraduate and graduate alumni that connect on social media via Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. In the future, the Villanova Office of Alumni relations will coordinate Cabrini alumni activities and opportunities, including an annual reunion for Cabrini Alumni.

Transferring in 2024/25

We have identified Ursinus CollegeHoly Family UniversityGwynedd Mercy University, and Eastern University as partner institutions that will be committed to supporting Cabrini students through the transition of continuing their education in fall 2024.

We are committed to finding every Cabrini student an academic home suited to their unique path and needs—one that readies them for lifelong success both personally and professionally. Throughout this upcoming year, Cabrini’s Center for Student Success will work with each of our students directly to develop individualized transfer plans to complete their degree with minimal disruption in their course of study and path to graduation.

We’ve made arrangements for Cabrini students (should they meet all prerequisites) to receive preferred enrollment status at the following institutions: Ursinus College, Holy Family UniversityGwynedd Mercy University, and Eastern University

The Center for Student Success will work individually with Cabrini students to determine which transfer schools will accept their earned credits and are the best academic fit.
We will provide an academic coach and will develop intensive and expedited academic recovery process for each student at risk on academic review so that they have the best possible opportunity of meeting the academic requirements of their preferred transfer institution.

Any Cabrini students interested in transferring to Villanova would begin that process during the upcoming admissions cycle. For those Cabrini students interested in finding an academic home at Villanova University, the University has developed an expedited, fee-free review process with two pathways for transfer, to enable rapid decisions around enrollment and financial aid for the 2024/25 academic year. There are a few pathways for students to transfer to Villanova include:

  • Starting December 15, the transfer application opens for Villanova’s traditional full-time undergraduate program for Fall 2024. As space allows, transfer applicants will be considered for admission into the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Villanova School of Business and College of Engineering.
  • Villanova’s College of Professional Studies offers in-person, online and hybrid bachelor’s degree options that align with Cabrini offerings, with transfer options for Spring 2024 (on a case-by-case basis), Summer 2024 and Fall 2024.
  • Villanova is offering an expedited admission process for Cabrini alumni interested in Villanova’s graduate programs. More information will be shared on this shortly.

Note: Representatives from Villanova have been on Cabrini’s campus, along with other institutions, to help students learn more about opportunities to finish their education, if they are not able to complete their degree at Cabrini.  You can find all the details here.

Cabrini has partnered with several excellent, comparable, local colleges and universities: Ursinus College, Holy Family UniversityGwynedd Mercy University, and Eastern University. Most are Catholic and share similar missions and values to our own. We believe these schools offer many of the same benefits and traditions that will resonate with Cabrini students.

Degrees/Records

Cabrini students are highly sought after and well respected in Pennsylvania and beyond. All Cabrini degrees have been issued by an accredited institution and remain valid beyond the closure of the institution. All student records will be continued and maintained by Villanova.

For the 2023/24 academic year, employers and graduate schools may make records requests as usual with the National Student Clearinghouse for degree and attendance verification. Students and alumni can follow the instructions on the Cabrini Registrar’s Office website for transcripts through the end of the 2023/24 academic year. Villanova has agreed to maintain and provide access to all Cabrini student records at the conclusion of Cabrini’s operations.

Financial Considerations

The 2023/24 academic year, scholarship, and financial aid packages will continue at Cabrini University as planned. As part of your transfer plan, the Center for Student Success will connect you with someone at the institution you select for transfer to review financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
We are working on an individual basis with students and comparable, local colleges and universities to honor earned scholarships and grants and/or supplemental tuition funding.

Athletics & Student-Athletes

After 2023/24 athletic season, the programs will come to an end.

Supporting both a DI and a DIII program is very rare in the NCAA – only one out of more than 1,000 institutions –and cost prohibitive. Even if cost were not an issue, it would be a complex, multi-step process involving the NCAA and athletic conferences, and would likely take many years.

When student athletes had their individualized appointment in the Center for Student Success, a representative from athletics was included to best support students on their academic and athletic journey.

No one is guaranteed a spot on any team.

We recommend students select a transfer institution that best aligns with their academic and athletic goals and priorities.

For any Cabrini student-athlete who applies and is accepted to Villanova, Villanova will collect any athlete performance scouting and recruiting information and share it with the respective coach, who will then reach out.

As with all Cabrini employees, qualified athletics staff after this upcoming year will have the opportunity to apply for open positions at Villanova and will receive special notification of those opportunities as they arise.

Villanova will provide resources to commemorate, celebrate and document the history and artifacts associated with Mother Cabrini and the Cabrini campus. This includes the honoring of Cabrini’s rich athletic history.
