Faculty

Yes. While we don’t share specific information with regard to employment, Cabrini staff have applied for open Villanova positions and Villanova will continue to consider employment opportunities in accordance with University hiring practices.

Generally speaking, tenure is granted through programs distinct to every college or university, based on institution-specific standards for distinguished teaching and scholarly contributions. Accordingly, tenure is not transferrable. Based on program needs, there may be a need for a limited number of faculty positions available at Villanova in the 2024/25 academic year.
Cabrini faculty hired into a tenure-track position at Villanova will be eligible for tenure consideration in accordance with Villanova’s policies and practices, however many Villanova faculty positions are not tenure-track.

Based on program needs, there may be a limited number of available faculty positions at Villanova in the 2024/25 academic year. Cabrini faculty may apply directly to any open positions. Should an appointment at Villanova occur in the future, terms of that appointment will be decided on an individual basis, based on academic needs and faculty qualifications.

Faculty will remain employed by Cabrini through the end of the 2023/24 academic year.
Those employment offers and agreements are private and personal. We do know from our discussions that Villanova’s compensation is market-based and informed by the qualifications of each employee and nature of each role. We do not, however, have influence over faculty compensation at Villanova.

Cabrini is committed to finding every student an academic home for the 2024/25 academic year suited to their unique path and needs—one that readies them for lifelong success both personally and professionally. Throughout this year, Cabrini’s Center for Success has offered 1:1 meetings to each student to develop individualized transition plans to complete their degrees.  Students have been provided with information about our partner and affiliate schools as well as information about “Cavaliers on the Move” in the Cabrini Portal, which is a form that assists them with completing the necessary paperwork for Cabrini to release their records to other schools.  Our partner schools continue to offer information sessions throughout the fall semester and Cabrini is providing transportation to open house events.  Please continue to encourage students to reschedule their advising meeting if they missed it. The Center for Student Success will continue to support students throughout the spring semester and students can ask questions about their transition planning by emailing [email protected] or stopping by the CSS in Grace Hall.

No, however, you will continue to be responsible for regular student advising appointments providing guidance on topics such as spring semester class registration, graduate programs, and professional/career guidance as usual. Throughout this upcoming year, Cabrini’s Center for Student Success will work with each student directly (along with a representative from Athletics, if applicable) to develop individualized transfer plans to enable them to complete their degrees with minimal disruption in their course of study and path to graduation. Note: Students will receive an email with information about their meeting in the fall semester. Students will be excused from class to attend their individualized meeting time. This page will be regularly updated as more information becomes available.

Staff

Separations will occur on a case-by-case basis and will vary by department and position. It is important to remember that Cabrini University’s 2023/24 academic year will continue as planned and staff will be critical partners in delivering upon this promise and opportunity.

While we don’t share specific information with regard to employment, Cabrini employees have applied for open Villanova positions and Villanova will continue to consider employment opportunities in accordance with University hiring practices. Villanova regularly has open positions available across its program, administrative, and service operations. All Cabrini staff are welcome and encouraged to apply for open positions at Villanova for which they are eligible and qualified.

Any staff from Cabrini who are hired at Villanova will be onboarded in a manner consistent with all new employees at Villanova.

Cabrini is providing job-seeking services, career coaching and resume review via a third-party partner, CCI Consulting, for faculty and staff.

Villanova will honor earned years of service for Cabrini employees who are employed by Villanova. Please note that, per policy, Cabrini does not pay out for unused sick and vacation time.

It is likely that employees will be eligible for unemployment benefits. However, it is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania—not Cabrini or Villanova—that makes such determination. Please email [email protected] for personalized details regarding your employment.
