Frequently Asked Questions

After closure on June 30, 2024, access to Cabrini’s student academic records will be managed by Villanova’s Registrar’s Office. Details regarding procedures to request those records and official academic transcripts are still being finalized and will be announced as the designated transition date draws closer.

In conjunction with this closure and transition, requests for changes to Cabrini student academic records will end for all semesters, as records must be readied and finalized for transition to Villanova.

Consequently, any final requests for changes to Cabrini student academic records for semesters other than the current Spring 2024 semester, must be received in writing by the Cabrini Registrar’s Office by March 15, 2024. The request will be reviewed and acted upon within prevailing Cabrini academic policy. Requests submitted after that date will not be accepted, reviewed, or considered.

Spring 2024 is Cabrini’s final semester. Cabrini’s academic records will be closed completely at the end of the Spring 2024 grading cycle, 30 days after the last day of final exams, or June 11th, 2024. There will be NO Summer 2024 adjustments, courses, registration, grades, or graduation.

In addition, once Villanova assumes control of Cabrini’s academic records, they are bound by law from making any changes or adjustments. Villanova staff will only manage access to Cabrini’s academic records. Therefore, any requests for changes to the records cannot be accepted by Villanova.

Questions regarding these procedures or the announced deadline for academic records changes may be directed to the Cabrini University Registrar’s Office at [email protected].

Though the University will conclude operations following the 2023-24 academic year, Cabrini’s history, mission, ministry, and legacy will be preserved through this agreement with Villanova. More information will be shared shortly.

All Cabrini degrees have been issued by an accredited institution and remain valid.

There will be the continuance of an annual Cabrini alumni event, which is just one part of Villanova’s commitment to acknowledge Cabrini history and carry forth the Cabrini legacy with its alumni community.

No. You completed degree requirements from Cabrini as is indicated on your diploma.

If you are an alum and would like to visit campus, we encourage you to register for and participate in planned events, which we advertise on our Alumni Events Page and via social media (Facebook and Instagram).

Due to limited staff capacity, Cabrini cannot add any additional events to the 2024 calendar. We will provide information soon about whom to contact after the end of the academic year in June if you’d like to visit or use the library.

Villanova will continue services to Cabrini alumni, including maintenance of academic transcripts and the continuance of an annual Cabrini alumni event. In addition, Villanova is offering an expedited admission process for Cabrini alumni interested in Villanova’s graduate programs, as well as providing access to Villanova career services.

Cabrini will continue its operations through the 2023-24 academic year and there are no definitive plans yet regarding how the Cabrini campus will be used once Cabrini ceases operations on June 30, 2024. Villanova plans to engage its community to ascertain the best way to incorporate and utilize the Cabrini Campus for the benefit of students, faculty, staff and alumni. Additionally, while the agreement has been approved by the boards of trustees of both institutions, completion of the transaction is contingent on a number of regulatory and other approvals, which are expected to be received over the coming months.

On this page you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions from our alumni, donors, and friends. If your question has not been answered here or in the general FAQ, please contact Laura Chisholm, Executive Director of Development & Alumni Relations, at [email protected]/610-902-8231.

Cabrini Athletics will continue to compete through the 2023-24 academic year, and we encourage you to support our student-athletes.

For the 2023/24 academic year, employers and graduate schools may make records requests as usual with the National Student Clearinghouse for degree and attendance verification. Students and alumni can follow the instructions on the Cabrini Registrar’s Office website for transcripts through the end of the 2023/24 academic year, ending on June 30, 2024. After that date, Villanova will maintain the records for Cabrini alumni and former students, who will be able to access their Cabrini transcripts using the service provided by the National Student Clearinghouse.  For those attending a Cabrini partner institution, records requests should be made to those institutions once Cabrini students have transferred.

Yes. Villanova will provide resources to commemorate, celebrate and document the history and artifacts associated with Mother Cabrini and the Cabrini campus, which includes honoring Cabrini’s rich athletic history.

Donors

First, we suggest connecting with graduating Cabrini students via the Alumni Association social media (Facebook and Instagram). Cabrini’s history, mission, ministry, and legacy will be preserved through our agreement with Villanova. We will offer additional information for alumni interested in supporting legacy projects in the coming months.

Cabrini is extremely grateful for gifts/support it has received over the years and is committed to ensuring that donors’ wishes continue to be met to the fullest extent feasible.

Cabrini and Villanova are aware of the importance of the named spaces and assets on campus. No changes will be made to such during our final year here at Cabrini. With the definitive agreement signed, we can now work on those specific preparations for the campus transition to Villanova. For example, where donor agreements are in place with named spaces, Villanova will honor those agreements to the best of its ability. More information will come as it is available.

Cabrini is working with the Attorney General and Orphans’ Court, its donors, and Villanova University to transfer the restricted endowment and continue to use it for the purposes intended. Villanova will look to honor specific designations made by Cabrini donors to the greatest extent possible and honor the Cabrini legacy and mission.

Cabrini and Villanova will work collaboratively to communicate with endowment donors and individuals who have made gift intentions through their estate.

Donations will not be used for renovations/infrastructure unless specifically designated as such by the donor. After the 2023-24 academic year, maintaining the campus will become Villanova’s responsibility. It’s important to note that Villanova is making an investment to enhance the University and its offerings. We will continue to be excellent stewards of donations to Villanova throughout this transition.
